I am a PhD student in History at Johns Hopkins University, studying the nineteenth-century United States. My dissertation will examine the legal and social construction of marriage in the early republic and antebellum periods. I am co-advised by Professors Martha S. Jones and Ronald G. Walters.
Prior to attending JHU, I received an AB in History from Harvard College. I am quite committed to aligning my historical questions with issues of social justice concern.
